Reflection of the worldview in the compositional techniques of landscape culture

The main purpose of the article is to establish the influence of ideas about nature and the world on the structure of the garden and park space. The author emphasizes that landscape gardening is most often viewed through the prism of the style of the era or the actual sphere of economics and politics. However, such an approach does not always make it possible to understand the logic and features of the compositional schemes used in the design of the park. The transformation of the worldview, the change in the idea of a person’s place in his environment, his proportionality to the world found expression in the spaces he created. Since the Ancient World, the article traces the transformation of ideas about the relationship between man and nature and their impact on the techniques and composition of park space. In conclusion, it is concluded that it is the picture of the world that acts as a determinant in the organization living space, as well as ways of reflecting reality (religion, science and art). Thus, the formation of the style of the epoch, and, consequently, the principles of the formation of landscape space, in this case, is determined by the relationship between man and nature, and the history of landscape culture can be interpreted as a consistent change of types of spaces.
