The research reviews the materials covering the revolutionary events of 1917-1918 published in Sibirsky Listok, a local private newspaper. The relevance of the study is caused by the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution of 1917 in 2017 and the need to find new materials to analyze the attitude of certain population groups to this historical episode in Russian regions. The paper focuses on the opinion of local intellectuals in this regard reflected in regional periodicals. The author examines the subjective views of correspondents and the editor of Sibirsky Listok on the 1917 situation that makes it possible to reveal political pluralism in Tobolsk in this period. The study analyzes the political public sentiments among local intellectuals and demonstrates the psychological and emotional perception of changes from the city dweller's perspective.
