The article analyzes the protection of A.N. Potresov and his adherents of their «defensive» views on the First World War in the newspaper «Den'» in 1917-1918. In summary the author makes a conclusion that Mensheviks with defensive views made a significant contribution into patriotic propaganda with the purpose of rescuing Russia from Germany and its allies.
