This article is a review of the book by the American researcher A. Orlov, published in 2016, Likeness of Heaven: Azazel, Satanael, and Leviathan in Jewish Apocalypticism . Its main topic is the study of dualistic motives in the Jewish pseudo-epigraphy of the 3rd century BC to 2nd century AD. The author pays special attention to the apocryphal works that have come down to us in Slavic translations - The Revelation of Abraham and The Third Book of Baruch. The review examines the main problems touched upon in the work, concludes that the publication of A. Orlov’s work is of great importance for the study of inter-testament literature and Slavic pseudo-epigraphy in Russian and world science.
