P. G. Redkin - a prominent Russian teacher-theorist

The article is devoted to the personality of a prominent Russian teacher of the XIX century Pyotr Grigoryevich Redkin (1908-1891). It has been prepared in connection with the 215th anniversary of his birth. It includes a detailed description of his biography and a description of the socio-pedagogical and scientific-theoretical activities of the scientist. The assessments given to Redkin, as an educator and a theorist of pedagogy, by prominent scientists, his students and contemporaries are given. The opinion is expressed about the need for further study of his theoretical heritage.
