During convocation of the Swedish estate parliament in 1746-1747 fight of the pro-Russian batch of «caps» against the pro-French and pro-Prussian party of «hats» ended with defeat of the supporters of rapprochement with Russia who were acting in the union with the Russian diplomacy. Using unlawful methods and cunning, the «hats» achieved arrests and dismissals of their rivals from the state posts. The aspiration of the Swedish nobility and city estate to get rid of Russian influence was the reason of victory of «hats» who were hoping for support of Prussia and France. The Russian diplomacy was defeated, but as a result the «hats» themselves preferred friendship with Russia, and in 1757 entered war against Prussia which had not justify their hopes.
