This article is devoted to the analysis of mutual investment funds as collective investment institutions. Historical and practical aspects of the formation of mutual investment funds as collective investment institutions are analyzed. The key features of mutual investment funds that determine their significance in modern economic conditions are highlighted. Various types of investment funds and the dynamics of their number in the domestic financial market are considered.
