Paleolithic finds near the village of Khadagi(Republic of Dagestan)

The paper publishes new Paleolithic materials from the location known asKhadagi (Southern Dagestan), which, though fragmented, are interesting because theycombine Middle Paleolithic knapping technique with the Upper Paleolithic type of tool,i. e. a knife of the Châtelperron type. It may be perceived as another manifestationof the fact that technology in Paleolithic industry is more conservative than morphologyof the artifact whereas this specific case may be interpreted as an illustration of the transitionfrom the Middle Paleolithic to the Upper Paleolithic in the Northeast Caucasus.
