Palliative radiation therapy for patients with loco-regional recurrence and metastasis of gastric cancer

The experience of using radiation therapy in 37 patients with loco-regional recurrence and metastasis of gastric cancer was analyzed. Palliative radiation therapy for patients with loco-regional recurrence and metastasis from breast cancer was shown to be safe and quite effective. Pain relief and recovery of food passing through the digestive tract were achieved in most patients. The total doses from 40 to 50 Gy were found to be most effective.
