The study which became the basis of this article was carried out at the junction of urban anthropology and sociology. The questioning of the residents of Krasnodar was made to reveal their perception of urban monuments and the city's related anthropology concepts. Consciousness of the importance and significance of monuments continues to attend among Krasnodar residents. Knowledge of the monuments received from older relatives and visits to monuments together with relatives are characterized as important and prestigious elements of social life. The memory of the Great Patriotic War and monuments dedicated to it is significant both for the indigenous Krasnodar and for the newcomers. However, their significance is less for newly arrived young people. The role of monuments related to military events century can weaken to the second quarter of the 21th after the departure of the memory of the war from a living family life. In this regard, public youth structures are needed that would help preserve it through volunteer work.
