Information on the battle-axe from the yuryuzan river region becameavailable more than 50 years ago, but this is the first full publication of this unique find. The main area of bronze «ceremonial» battle-axes includes the north and north-eastof Europe, archaeological cultures of the ananyino world. Despite its morphologicalsimilarity with ananyino battle-axes, the battle-axe from the yuryuzan region hasa number of components that make it different. It is probably linked to the Itkul cultureof the mountain forest Urals. The location where the battle-axe was found suggests that itwas a votive object, which was «buried» in one of the hidden religious cult places of Uralsminers and metal-makers of the early Iron age.
