The technique of establishing the optimal combination of operated cutting parameters for various processing methods based on T-Q characteristics of cutting processes is considered. T-Q characteristics make it possible to observe the operability of the cutting tool in the entire range of variation of the combination of parameters of the processing regime and can serve as an index of the machinability of various cutting materials. Criteria of processability can serve as constant T-Q characteristics: CT and exponent n, the values of which are the basis for the economic evaluation of the efficiency of the processing process. The efficiency of processing is the minimum cost of surface treatment with the required quality indicators. Calculation of a combination of controlled parameters of the processing mode for various processing methods is performed by expressions for the stability constants T of the tool, in the ranges of its variation depending on the stage of processing, for practical use, it is recommended that the combinations providing the optimal material removal rate Q0 are recommended. An example of the application of the method for the process of turning the outer cylindrical surface of a modern cutting insert of a collection tool is given.
