Party investigator Berezner from the comments of “Fourth prose”

The article is devoted to biography of political investigator S.V. Berezner that was recreated on the basis of archival sources; he interrogated with the poet Mandelstam in 1930. The interrogation deals with the conflict of the poet with colleagues-translators, which served as a pretext for the creating “Fourth prose”. Berezner’s life was very interesting itself - it is a kind of reflection of the historical and political processes, that were occurred in 1920 - 1950s in USSR. However, unlike many of his colleagues who started their party career with him, he was still alive and was not even in prison, although during the Great War was captured, but returned home safely.
