Passionate journalism as a converted form of ethnic picture of the world

Based on longitudinal monitoring and analysis of 1106 theses, we present a new concept of passionate journalism. Having considered the journalism of peoples as a converted form of the ethnic picture of the world by scientometric methods, we have de-scribed the functions of journalism at various stages of ethnogenesis — patriotic, statist, and civil. Patriotism is a social form of neo-ethnicity articulation. The discourse of statism at the stage of creation of a national state by an ethnic group turns into nationalist propaganda. In post-ethnic journalism based on the principle of co-citizenship the main content is the civic consciousness of a post-ethnic nation.
