Pathophysiologic aspects of acute liver failure modeling

Searching for improved models of acute liver failure is important issue of modern medical science due to high demand in development of diagnosis and treatment for this syndrome. The current research deals on critical analysis of published data on modeling of acute liver failure. Surgical and chemical methods reviewed in detail. Authors provide their own modification of acetaminophen-induced model for acute liver failure. The method comprises intraperitoneal injection of acetaminophen in propylene glycol. Survival and biochemical indices were evaluated after 72 hours since induction.
