Pathogenetic mechanisms of the neuromyopathy in dogs and cats with diabetes

The article presents the pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of a neuromyopathy in dogs and cats with diabetes. It is shown that in the absence of or inadequate compensation of metabolic disorders in dogs and cats with diabetes develops pathology of the nerves and muscle fibers, which is a violation of the motility of the gastro-intestinal tract and the development of atrophy of the muscles of the thigh and shin with gait disorders.
