In this article, the authors assessed the role of nitric oxide in the complex treatment of trophic ulcers in diabetic foot syndrome. The work shows that these ulcers are marked by a severe, chronic course, difficulty in medication and surgical correction, the presence of a secondary infection. The authors of the work identified 2 groups of patients. The main group consisted of 56 patients who received treatment with nitric oxide. The control included 32 patients who received standard therapy. In the main group, there appeared an earlier appearance of granulations, a decrease in inflammation and pain syndrome, and the most pronounced antioxidant effect was noted. In addition, a more pronounced increase in blood flow velocity in the limb vessels was noted compared with the control group of patients. In the long-term period, relapses were noted in 3 (18.7%) patients of the main group and in 8 (50%) controls.
