To investigate platelet dysfunction profiles in di-alyzed chronic renal failure (CRF) patients receiving hemodialysis. 24 CRF patients were included in study group. ADP-induced platelet aggregation was shown to be decreased. Biochemical studies found increase of "uremic" toxic compounds, low and middle weight substances, primary, secondary and end products of lipid peroxidation (LPO), depression of catalase and suporoxiddismutase (SOD) activity. Also nitric oxide (NO) metabolites and von Willebrand factor were found to be elevated. Depression of platelet aggregation was directly correlated to level of secondary LPO products (ketodienes and conjugated trienes) in heptane fraction, NO metabolites, decrease of SOD and catalase. Dialysis procedure was shown to diminish the platelet aggregation further regardless of it's positive influence on uremic toxins level.
Chronic renal failure, dialysis, platelet dysfunction, platelet aggregation, lipid peroxidation products, оксид азота (ii), nitric oxide
