Patriotic education of students by means of project activities

In the context of a reassessment of values and a change in ideals, the problem of patriotic education of students is one of the priorities. The purpose is to study the impact of project activities on the patriotic education of students. The works of scientists devoted to patriotic education and project activities are highlighted. The key concepts of “patriotism”, “citizenship”, “patriotic education”, “project”, “project activity” are analyzed. Structural elements of the key concept of “patriotic education” are defined. The results of the diagnostic stage of the experimental work on the problem under study, which was carried out on the basis of the state budgetary professional educational institution “Korkinsky Mining and Construction College” within the framework of the educational program implemented in the educational organization, are presented. The 630 students were involved in this study. On the basis of theoretical (analysis of regulatory documents, scientific and methodological literature) and empirical (survey, conversation, observation, questioning, mathematical processing of the data obtained) methods, the main directions of patriotic education of VEO students were determined. At the same time, special attention was paid to project activities, as a result of which social competencies, personal qualities, professional interests are formed, which contributes to the development of a creative, active personality. As a result of project activities, VEO students gain experience in solving real problems.
