Patriotic education of students in the context of socio-cultural activity of historic-memorial direction

Problem and purpose. The modern socio-cultural paradigm of Russia requires raising the level of patriotic upbringing of the youth. In order to educate a worthy young generation, responsible citizens of the country, capable of showing themselves both in the defense of their country and in peaceful work, high moral, educated, cultured, tolerant people, who know and respect their own culture, it is necessary to form spiritual and moral qualities of the personality, educate ethical norms, develop a patriotic attitude and ownership. In this connection, the attention to the theoretical and empirical problems of patriotic education has recently been increasing. The article describes the possibilities of using socio-cultural activities in the educational organization of higher education and reveals its influence on the patriotic education of modern youth; considers the importance and urgency of patriotic education of the youth. The purpose of the article is to determine the pedagogical conditions that optimize the process of patriotic upbringing and to test the system of work aimed at building the patriotic consciousness of modern youth. The methodology of the research consists of experimental work that takes place in three stages: ascertaining, forming, controlling, as well as analyzing and summarizing the research work of foreign and domestic scientists recognized by the scientific community, and the experience of pedagogical activity in the sphere of patriotic consciousness formation. Results. On the basis of theoretical research and testing of the program of work, it is revealed that in the complex of patriotic education, it is necessary to use the tools of social and cultural activity, organize events and excursion tours aimed at acquaintance with the historical and cultural traditions of not only the home land, but all Russia. The article formulates the requirements for the forms of socio-cultural activities aimed at the formation of patriotic consciousness of young people. Conclusion. Considering the current trends, we can conclude that in the field of patriotic education the role of museums, memorials and rooms of military glory is very great. Thanks to personal perception of exhibits and wartime monuments, an atmosphere of empathy for those events, as well as unity with their participants, is created. In the process of memorial historical tourism, search work, meetings with veterans of the Battle of Stalingrad, a sense of patriotism and attachment to the heroes of the past is formed. Today it is necessary to create museums and rooms of military glory on the basis of educational institutions. Besides, for the purpose of patriotic education of modern youth, it is necessary to organize walking tours to the places of battles, create conditions for various search activities.
