The article covers questions of the philosophical level realization of the educational examination methodology. Under the subject matter of the philosophy of education the author distinguishes problems of the educational examination study, corresponding with the given level. It is analyzed contribution to the educational examination matter of the widespread philosophical doctrines: pragmatism, existentialism, rationalism, positivism, and dialectic materialism.
