The article considers issues of forming of leadership qualities of cadets of military schools on the example of pedagogical system of A.S. Makarenko, the necessity of the use of traditions and potential of pedagogy for training and education of cadets of military-political universities as leaders of the military collective, comparative analysis of the educational system of the foreign armies, underlined the relevance develop leadership skills in today’s military conflicts.
