Pedagogical tests for assessing the level of mastering didactic units by students

Problem and purpose. The article is devoted to studying the problem of assessing the level of mastering didactic units by students regarding the major requirements of the Federal State Standards for Higher Education. The authors of the article underline the absence of the necessary tools for assessing the progress and suggest their own approach to developing special types of pedagogical tests oriented to assessing the depth of the component-wise mastering by students of the didactic units under study. The objective of the article is to substantiate and describe the typology of pedagogical tests the usage of which will allow to assess the completeness of mastering the didactic units absorbed by students. The methodology of research is based on a complex approach, theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological works in the sphere of the classical theory of testing, the major provisions of Pedagogics for various aspects of the “didactic unit” category of research. The results of the research are presented as a complex of pedagogical tests for revealing the depth of the component-wise absorption by students of the didactic units. A classification of such tests has been worked out. In the conclusion of the article the authors develop a conviction about the prospects of using the tests of the suggested types in order to check, test and assess the results in mastering the didactic units learned by students.
