The article considers the pedagogical conditions conducive to the development of communicative skills of students by means of folklore. These are positive motivation of students to study folklore as an artistic and philosophical system, integrated use of folklore genres, program-methodical maintenance of lessons, organization of different types of interaction between the members of the same team, identification of criteria and indicators of development of communicative skills of students.
