The article is devoted to the modernization of the content of the concept of "pedagogical skill" in the context of new digital formats of higher education. The task of developing a proactive approach to training in modern conditions and the formation of a new design of the educational environment is set. The main factors and directions of transformation of conditions of professional activity of the teacher of the higher school are defined. The problems of embedding modern teachers in new formats of pedagogical interaction are revealed. The main conclusions of the study of the pedagogical activity of the teaching staff, conducted by the authors in April-December, 2020 on the basis of the educational portal of the MGIK, are presented. Definitions of the main components of pedagogical skills required in the conditions of distance or mixed learning. The key component of pedagogical skills is represented by the information culture of the individual. The most significant components of the information culture of a higher school teacher are decomposed.
