Pedagogical support for the professional development of students with disabilities at the university

The article is devoted to the current problem of stimulating the process of professional development of students with disabilities during their studies at a university. The authors developed and tested a model of pedagogical support of the educational process. Pedagogical support, as part of the educational system of the university, involves the rejection of segregation of students with special educational needs, even in order to assist them, the use of activating and developmental technologies, developed taking into account the specific patterns of development of the cognitive sphere of an individual with disabilities, in the process of theoretical training, activating strategies aimed at forming an internal position in relation to the future profession, in the process of their practical training, and programs aimed at optimizing personal development. The model was tested in a number of Russian universities and showed its effectiveness. The indicators of its effectiveness were: features of professional identity, readiness for professional activity, motives for studying at a university and the level of ability for self-development and self-education of students with disabilities. Positive dynamics of the indicated indicators was revealed in the experimental group, which consisted of 28 students of different nosological groups studying at universities implementing inclusive practices.
