J.-J. Rousseau strived to overcome destructive consequences of direct exposure of the child to pedagogical influences of the mentor which more often than not provoked the child’s resistance. He tried to prove the effectiveness of pedagogy of manipulation based on hidden influence of the mentor on the child by means of creating a special environment provided him with knowledge and moral education. In R’s opinion the main task of pedagogical manipulation does not boil down to instilling in the child correct principles motivations, it should also prevent destructive conflicts between the mentor and the child. The child should be mainly brought up by means of well directed freedom”
