The publication is devoted to the morphological manifestations of children's letters in writing, clarification of linguistic and psycholinguistic mechanisms underlying normative spelling. Based on observations and experimental data the conclusion about the possibility of acquizition of spelling rules before their systematic study in school is drawn.
