The article discusses the need to change the traditional paradigm in the higher education system. It emphasizes the importance of humanization of educational paradigms as the main direction of higher education reforming and the value of the person-oriented educational paradigm as a condition of personality formation and comprehensive education of future professionals. The advantages and disadvantages of the person-oriented paradigm are shown.
