Strengthening neo-institutionalism position in modern economic thought and the transformation of the business management paradigm in the context of the transition to stakeholders capitalism require the need to improve the methodology for assessing Russian companies value. The article provides a critical analysis of Russian literature and substantiates the prospects of using the approach to understanding the essence and estimating enterprises value proposed by the functional theory of the German school. Authors determine the directions for the development of basic concepts and methods for assessing the value of domestic enterprises.
