The review of court judgments passed in the absence of a defendant

The article discusses specific features of the review of sentences in absentia in accordance with the requirements of the Article 247 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. The frequent use of these forms of criminal cases consideration in practice is emphasized. The author analyses the legal acts regulating the review of court judgments passed in the absence of a defendant, on the basis of which some suggestions on their amendment are made.
