Translation of English Idioms Expressing Human Emotions (Based on Literary Texts)

This article examines the specifics of translating English idioms expressing emotional states into Kyrgyz. Emotional idioms are complex objects of translation, as they reflect the national and cultural specifics of the linguistic worldview. The aim of the study is to identify the main methods of conveying English emotional idioms in Kyrgyz using literary texts. The analysis revealed that the most productive translation methods are phraseological equivalents, descriptive translation, and semantic substitution. The obtained results can be used in literary translation practice and in translation studies courses.
