The choice of translation techniques for interpreting Russian nicknames in Serbian and Croatian literary texts to a great extent depends on the level of their the context motivation. Literary translation authors use formal (transcription or transliteration) ways of presenting proper names in Serbian (Croatian) texts or use specification and compensation transformations depending on the level of their context motivation in concrete Russian texts.
