We report a case of successful treatment of a 65-year-old male patient with esophageal perforation by a foreign body (denture). It was impossible to remove the foreign body during fibroesophagoscopy, so it was displaced into the stomach. At the place of the foreign body location, we found a 2-cm rupture of the mucous membrane without any signs of bleeding. Two hours after the manipulation, the patient developed symptoms of esophageal perforation. Intraoperatively, we revealed a 12-cm defect of the esophageal wall, which was considered as an indication for esophageal resection and simultaneous repair using a gastric transplant. The postoperative period was uneventful. The patient was discharged 10 days postoperatively. Presumably, esophageal rupture in this case was caused by traction of the foreign body during fibroesophagoscopy. The volume of surgery was determined by the size of esophageal rupture. Good treatment outcome confirmed that we used an adequate surgical tactics.
