Perm in Russian-American 'emigr'e poetry: N.A. Birskaya-Okuntsova's case

The article studies the Perm period in the life and poetry of the Russian-American emigre poet N.A. Birskaya-Okuntsova in historical and cultural context of provincial life at the time of the Revolution and investigates the specificity of the "American" image of Perm. Special attention is given to N.A. Birskaya-Okuntsova's journalistic texts. In the article key images, motifs and title-final complexes of N.A. Birskaya-Okuntsova's poetry are analysed, paying special attention to the creation of the image of Motherland in her "American" poetry.
