In this article, the author analyzes the work of Yevgeny Aleksandrovich Bobrov (1867- 1933), a representative of the Yurʹyev (Dorpat) school of Russian neo-Leibnizianism, and a student and follower of Teichmuller. Te evolution of Bobrov’s views is shown, beginning with his translation into Russian of the Monadology of Gotfried Leibniz in 1888 and his first works devoted to the personalistic theory of art, and ending with the call to return “Back to Marx!”, which the thinker expressed shortly before the October Revolution. Te specifics of each of the four periods of the thinker’s creativity (the Yurʹyev, Kazan, Warsaw, and Rostov periods) are revealed. It is proved that, despite obvious references to Teichmuller’s personalism and the desire to “expand” his ideas to the field of psychology and aesthetics, there is no reason to consider Bobrov as an “unoriginal” thinker and someone who has not made his own personal contribution to the history of Russian thought. As one such original idea, Bobrov’s doctrine of co-ordinate being is considered.
