Prospects of integrating confessional communities in Russia for the purpose of establishing an all-Russian civil identity

The author considered in this paper an issue of harmonizing inter-confessional relations being urgent for the contemporary Russia. The study emphasized that establishing an all-Russian civil identity shall not be accessible without harmonizing inter-confessional relations since confessions historically established round Russia have taken a key part to spiritual and intellectual life of Russian society. Inter-confessional integration may be achieved on the grounds of generalities of traditional values the confessions shared, common service to the interests of Russian statehood. The educational scheme and mass media shall take a major part in the progress of integration.
