To improve athletes' adaptation to physical and psycho emotional stress, accelerate recovery processes after the end of training and competition, and prevent alimentary - related diseases, proper nutrition is essential. One of the ways to optimize the nutrition of athletes is the inclusion in their diets of specialized and functional products created on the basis of local vegetable raw materials. The article discusses the prospects for using the fruits of irgi to create functional foods for athletes.
