Perspectives of export of Russian software

The article analyses the impact of sanctions on the Russian software development industry and the prospects of Russian software exports in the new economic and political environment. The introduction of unprecedented sanctions against Russia in 2022 led to the withdrawal of many large technology companies from the Russian market, which opened up opportunities for local software developers. At the same time, the previously developed markets were closed for Russian exporters, forcing them to look for new export destinations. Entering new markets and developing export relations with “friendly” countries are necessary for the country's economic development. The article analyses the impact of sanctions on the export activities of Russian IT companies and compiles a list of countries whose markets are currently the most promising. The leaders are Kazakhstan, UAE, Brazil. Russian IT companies have a significant export potential, especially in the markets of friendly countries, where they can occupy promising niches provided that their solutions are competitive.
