Prospects for cognitive theory of metaphor in biblical studies

The author examines the perspectives of cognitive metaphor theory in the biblical studies. On the material of the Gospel of John he traces the development of metaphorical concept of “Life — is a journey”. The analysis showed that a conceptual picture of the world of gospel's author has the cognitive foundations which is typical for a modern man.
