Prospects of non-governmental education in Russia

The article examines the prospects of non-governmental education in Russia. Education is the most important social elevator in the life of every person in Russia. Non-governmental, private education appeared during the period of perestroika, in the late 1980s. However, it was only after the adoption of the Law on Education in 1992 that non-state education in Russia received a legal justification. Since then, for 30 years, non-state education in Russia has been developing, which led to the fact that in the 2023/2024 academic year a non-state university «Synergy» became the largest university in Russia for the first time. This study uses a comparative historical and a predictive methods. School education in Russia forms the knowledge, skills and abilities of students for passing the basic and unified state exams (OGE and USE). State and non-state education in Russia have their own supporters, their own opportunities and prospects. Their task is to identify these qualities and improve the effectiveness of the entire education system in Russia.
