The article provides a comprehensive assessment and analysis of the results of a technical and economic comparison of various options for span comparisons of small bridges. Steel rolled I-beams of steel 14KhGNDTS, welded I-beams from steel 15KhSND and wooden structures of superstructures are considered as compared options. The use of rolled steel 14KhGNDTS makes it possible to obtain efficient and cost-effective solutions in the field of transport construction. The optimal use of weather-resistant steels in the construction of bridges and other structures is an opportunity to increase the service life of objects with minimal costs for their operation and maintenance. Thus, weathering steel is an effective material for bridge building applications. It has increased weather resistance, which increases the durability of the structure and safety on the roads.
