Development prospects of fingerprint records in the Russian Federation

This article reviews the current issues of fingerprint registration, the efficiency of its application. The authors discuss introduction of the mandatory fingerprinting of citizens of Russia and foreign individuals for the aims of disclosure and investigation of criminal activity, as well as a number of problems related to the protection of electronic fingerprints database.
