Sanctions pressure and increased international tension could not but have a negative impact on the development of entrepreneurship in the Russian Federation, however, the number of small and medium-sized businesses, despite the difficult geopolitical situation, is growing every year. Of course, these problems are not new: unprecedented pressure on Russian business has been exerted since 2014, when Western countries adopted a package of sanctions that reduced investment in the Russian economy and restricted the inflow of foreign credit. The consequence of this was a capital outflow from Russia, totalling $153bn at the time. The relevance of this topic is due to the fact that favourable conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses and their growth contribute to the acceleration of economic growth and stable development of the country as a whole due to their impact on the economy, as well as due to the share they occupy.
