The purpose of the study is to assess the conditions and influence of factors on the sustainable development of rural areas in the context of the implementation of the concept of interstate cooperation of cross-border regions. Research considers the priority directions of the development of the transboundary territories of the Altai Region in the context of the implementation of the production concept of territorial localization. The prospective development of local production specialization of border areas is based on the theory of interstate partnership. The most important issues are reducing the differences between municipalities, increasing the export of products and services, and the rhythmic development of specialized markets in border areas. Foreign economic activity is not limited only to cross-border trade, as some economists believe. Cross-border areas are usually represented by rural municipalities with agricultural specialization. Therefore, production di-versification plays not only production, but also an important socio-economic function in terms of increasing the employment rate of the rural population. A promising direction for the development of cross-border rural areas of the region with an agrarian direction of economic development is cross-border industrial cooperation, including the production of organic and environmentally friendly products. The formation of cross-border co-operatives of the international level will allow all the regions involved to have competitive advantages. Such associations are considered as a basis for optimizing the integrated application and use of areas of cross-border cooperation. The application of this conceptual approach will contribute to the internationalization of economic cooperation of cross-border territories. To ensure logistics processes on the territory of the border zone, it is advisable to create optimal sales channels: the creation of a specialized complex - a multipurpose center (CMN), which is considered in the context of integrated logistics for the provision of services of various levels to the business community.
