Prospects for the development of WDM technology in the world

The article discusses modern multiplexing technologies based on wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), which play a key role in the development of optical communication networks. Special attention is paid to the analysis of CWDM and DWDM methods, their technical features, advantages and limitations. The analysis of the impact of these technologies on network bandwidth is carried out and the prospects for their further development in the context of increasing global Internet traffic are considered.
