Ethnographic educational tourism in Yaroslavl region: sustainable development prospects

The article discusses the ethnographic educational tourism of Yaroslavl region, the main development directions and prospects. Scientific novelty of this article is in the author’s attempt to analyze current condition of ethnographic educa- tional tourism in Yaroslavl region. The author tries to detect main methods of ethnographic cognition that used in region studied and make recommendations to promote this type of tourist activity. At the beginning of the article the author emphasizes the relevance of the directions of tourist activity in modern society for which important tasks are the patri- otic education and tolerant attitude of the population. The article also gives theoretical definition of this type of tourism, ethnographic objects and ways of knowing. The author cites statistics materials about the ethnic composition of the population, informative data about the work of Yaroslavl regional department of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, as well as information about international projects and activities that take place in the region. Also, great attention is paid to consideration of the features of ethnographic complexes, museums, routes, activities related to the studied type the tourist activity. The article provides an experience of the educational institutions of additional education “Center for chil- dren and youth tourism and excursions”, Mokeevskaya secondary school of Yaroslavl municipal district, Velikoselskaya secondary school of Gavrilov-Yamsky District municipal district. In the final part the author gives recommendations for improvement of this type of tourism.
