Prospects for introducing wild plants of the Circum-Baikal region flora

Бесплатный доступ

302 wild plants growing in the circum-Baikal region are used in Tibetan medicine, 33 of them are pharmacopoeial in Russia and more than 40 species are intensively studied in neighboring countries (Mongolia and China). The article considers the prospects for introducing 69 non-pharmacopeial species into medical practice, among them 27 species are prohibited in Russia for use in dietary supplements, 28 are poorly studied, and 9 have been studied in Institute for General and Experimental Biology SB RAS. Duplicating studies on pharmacopoeial plants in China and Mongolia does not make sense since long-term cooperation between the Russian Federation and the PRC, as well as subsequent expansion of the natural medicine market will inevitably lead to the legalization of many monographs on the most popular species of medicinal plants in Chinese and Tibetan medicine in Russia. Studies on local species for developing adaptogenic remedies based on data from Tibetan medicine and traditional medicine of Eastern Siberia are the most promising. We have developed adaptogenic mono- and multi-component remedies, and described them in this article.
