Prospects of e-justice implementation: legal problems of information security support

The article deals with the problems of e-justice system implementation in Russia. The analysis of the formation and development processes of the state automated system “Justice” is carried out; its structure and main functions are discussed. The article reviews the new technical capacity of the electronic court applications and webcast of court hearings for the purpose of openness, publicity and availability of justice. The author considers legislation in the field of appealing to the court in an electronic form and providing access to information on the courts’ activities for the citizens. Legal, organizational, technical and economic problems of e-justice implementation are revealed; international experience in this area is considered. The study discusses the legal issues of electronic notification of trial participants and protection of their personal data when making court decisions publicly available on the Internet. The author examines the problem of information security support and safe data transmission in the e-justice system.
