The Khakassia higher education’s firstling: at the origins of the Abakan State Pedagogical Institute formation

The paper discusses the process of formation of the Abakan State Pedagogical Institute (ASPI), which took place from the mid-40s to the mid-50s XX century. In the course of the study, the authors relied on the principle of historicism, historical-genetic and historical-systemic methods. During the period under review, the ASPI and the Teacher's institute that functioned at the university trained teachers of history, Russian language and literature, physics and mathematics, geography, and also trained personnel for the national schools of Khakassia and Tuva. At this stage, considerable attention was paid to the formation of the teaching staff, the creation of material and living conditions for organizing the educational process and increasing the student body. The scientific work of teachers was focused, first of all, on writing Candidate's dissertations, in which regional topics prevailed. The main forms of student science were also laid here - scientific circles and the holding of an annual university conference.Areas of social activity were formed, which were the organization of concerts at the institute and at sponsored enterprises, speeches with political information, participation in sports competitions. In general, graduates of the Abakan Pedagogical Institute contributed to the development of the education system in the region, since it was mainly through them that the teaching staff of secondary, secondary specialized and higher educational institutions, the Khakass Regional Institute for the Improvement of Teachers and the Khakass Research Institute of Language, Literature and History were formed.
